I have dedicated my life to public service, advocacy, and the pursuit of justice. I currently serve as a Federal Administrative Law Judge with the Social Security Administration, following 24 years as a legal aid attorney and nine years as a labor organizer. For more than two decades, I have shared my perspectives through opinion pieces published in the Concord Monitor. I live in Wilmot, New Hampshire, with my wife, Debra, and our golden retriever, Blue.

My Journey
My career has always been guided by a commitment to justice, public service, and giving a voice to those who are too often unheard.
Today, I serve as a Federal Administrative Law Judge with the Social Security Administration, where I have spent the last sixteen years. After working for more than a year in Anchorage, Alaska, I continued my service in the Lawrence, Massachusetts Office of Hearings Operations, where I have worked for the past fifteen years. I also serve as Regional Vice President for the judges’ union, IFPTE, an AFL-CIO affiliated organization.
Before joining the federal bench, I dedicated twenty-four years to helping individuals and families as a legal aid attorney with New Hampshire Legal Assistance. Earlier in my career, I spent nine years as a labor and left organizer, experiences that shaped my lifelong belief in fairness, advocacy, and social justice.
For more than two decades, I have shared my perspectives as an independent voice on the left through opinion columns published in the Concord Monitor, the daily newspaper serving Concord, New Hampshire. Writing has given me another way to engage with important issues and contribute to public dialogue.
Although I grew up in the Philadelphia area, New Hampshire has been home for most of my adult life. I currently reside in Wilmot, New Hampshire, with my wife, Debra, and our beloved golden retriever, Blue.
Whether through public service, advocacy, commentary, or storytelling, my journey has always been rooted in a simple belief: that every person deserves dignity, fairness, and a voice that matters.
